Crescent by Lucy Myers

Untouchable and dark.

As it is my love, the sun’s turn to sleep.

My glowing silhouette floats

In the starry night sky.

Enchanting and mysterious,

I hold many quiet secrets.

As my pasty yellow light

Shines on the earth below.

Watching the world spin,

I see lights go out in the countryside.

Brighten in the city

And wait for the nightlife to arise.

As my friends, the stars, burn out,

My lover begins to come to light.

It’s time for me to rest for the day.

As I’ll be out the next night.
